Cover Reveal: Catching Liam by Sophia Bleu

Title: CATCHING LIAM
Author: Sophia Bleu
Publication date: Summer 2013
Genre: New Adult Contemporary

Synopsis:
Twenty-one year-old Jillian Nichols only has one rule when it comes to boys: catch and release. Boy-catching isn't just a game for Jillian and her friends, it's a lifestyle. After all, boys might be good for a dance or a drink and certainly a little under-cover action of the scandalous variety, but expect much else and you're bound for heart ache.

So when her best friends and fellow boy catchers start dropping like flies junior year, Jillian is determined to keep boys in her bedroom and out of her heart. Until she meets Liam McAvoy, the kind of guy that sticks around to make waffles and who can't—or perhaps won't—take a hint.

Study abroad student Liam doesn't want to be another notch on Jillian's bedpost. Actually he has much more interesting ideas for Jillian and her bedposts, but his student visa's set expiration date means he can't promise her forever. That doesn't mean he's going to walk away from the challenge of discovering why Jillian is hell-bent at keeping people at a distance.

Before long, neither is sure who is catching who—or if they're playing for keeps. Jillian knows one thing though: falling in love will not only break the only rule of boy-catching, it could also break her heart.

Facts about A Terrible Love Part I
By Marata Eros
1.                  I studied the art of ballet from age five to fourteen. Though I was nowhere near my fictional character, Jewell MacLeod, in expertise, I knew just enough to lend authenticity to the ballet scenes and references.
2.                  Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest in a suburb of Seattle, I love to base my stories in and around the city that I lived so close to as a child. The scenes of imagery, especially the damp weather, are very much a part of the fabric of my memories of that area.
3.                  I had a 1974 LT-1 Camaro as my first car and used it as Mitch's vehicle in ATL.
4.                  I have not seen the film, Black Swan, but found the trailer to have the dark “feel” I was going for with ATL. For some reason, those scenes from that short trailer captured the “vibe” of ATL very well and influenced the almost eerie atmosphere of her dancing scenes.
Because of my history of old house restoration I use old structures as backdrop every chance I can. You'll note in all my novels, I never use modern homes.

________________________________________________________

Review:

I wouldlike to thank the author for providing me a copy of this book in exchange foran honest review.

This story revolved around a broken girl, Georgia King and a sex on legs, hockey player, Ben Lancaster. Sounds like your typicalstory? I guarantee you that is NOT the case!

Georgia has been through a lot as a twenty yearold. She has battled internal demons and is struggling to win that battle, daily.  She has vowed totake control over her life and concentrate on herself, that is, until BenLancaster blows into her life on a Wednesday afternoon.

As a little sister of an assistant hockey coach,Georgia knows all about these hockey players. However, she soon realizes thatBen is not your average hockey player. Georgia’s brother, Matt, is fully awareof Georgia’s past and tries his best to make sure that his little sister doesnot fall to the same fate she has in the past. He knows Georgia has thecapability to ruin guys and he cannot afford for that to happen to his starplayer, Ben.

"It would be tragic for me toruin someone like Ben Lancaster, and that’s pretty much what I did. I ruined things. I ruined people."

Georgia and Ben try their best to stay away fromeach other. However, there is an attraction that neither one of them can deny.Usually I am not for insta-love or insta-attraction.  However, the author was successful in making it believable. You felt the electricity between Ben and Georgia throughout the entire book.

“Do you feel this?” he whispered hoarsely. “Youhave to feel this. It can’t just be me. There’s no f-ing way it can just be me”

Holy crap. Yeah I felt that, Ben. I loved that the book alternated between the POVof both Georgia and Ben.  Beinginside Ben’s head made me enjoy him even more. He has these ways with wordsthat made me swoon. A lot.

“Georgia, it’s easy to give in to something thatfeels good. But I don’t want easy. I’ve had easy. I want something worth hellof a lot more than easy.”

Once Georgia and Ben give in to this attraction,Ben realizes there is so much more he does now know about Georgia. He has noidea what she battles daily and understands it won’t be easy to deal with, buthe wants to love her anyway.

“I had a feeling that Ben Lancaster had just tattooed himself onto mysoul and the thing about tattoos? They’re painful to remove.”

Once the truth comes out, Ben is thrown, butdetermined more than ever to show Georgia that they can survive and deal withthis. He is not willing to give up on their relationship.

“You’re wrong you know. I love you.All of you. Even the pieces that you won’t show me because all of that stuffmakes up your circle and I don’t give a flying f if it’s broken. I love everycracked and fragmented piece of you. And when you’re ready, I hope you’ll trustme enough to let me be the one to help you put those broken pieces backtogether.”

Holy. Freakin’ Swoon. Ben Lancaster. Hesaid all the right things when Georgia needed to hear them. He’s hot, sweet, and just knows how to make you feel good inside. Yes he has all therequirements of the perfect book boyfriend. I could not get enough of him.

“If you love me then what’s the problem? Love is enough. Love has to be enough”

Is love really enough? As an avid reader, thisquestion comes up a lot in a lot of the books I have read. However, whencharacters are faced with what Georgia and Ben has to face,  I really don’t know the answer to that.Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I think the author did a great job atallowing you to fall for Georgia and Ben. Even with all the challenges theyface, you still want to root for them. I loved that Georgia is a strong womanand no matter what she realizes that she cannot be the person for Ben and bethe lover he deserves until she can truly love herself.  I absolutely cannot wait to see wheretheir story takes them next.

New Release, Guest Post & Giveaway: Emancipating Andie by Priscilla Glenn

Emancipating Andie

Title: Emancipating Andie
Author: Priscilla Glenn
Release date: April 27, 2013
Age Group: Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Event organized by: AToMR Tours

Ever since the one time Andie Weber threw caution to the wind - and paid the price for it - she’s learned that it’s safer and smarter to live life playing by the rules. Now she’s got a great apartment, a steady job, and a wonderful boyfriend in Colin; he’s sweet, stable, and essentially perfect – except maybe for the fact that his best friend is Chase.

Chase McGuire lives his carefree, unstructured life strictly for himself. Dripping sarcasm and oozing wit, he refuses to censor his feelings or opinions for anyone, making no apologies for either and wearing his abrasiveness like a badge of honor. No one has ever gotten under Andie’s skin the way Chase does –and vice versa.

So when Andie and Chase find themselves forced to take a two-day road trip together, they are already dreading an inevitable all-out war. But as the trip progresses, and the undeniable friction that has always defined their relationship slowly begins to wear away their preconceived notions of each other, Andie and Chase discover they both have a lot to learn about life, courage, happiness, and the age-old battle between logic and love.

Priscilla Glenn debut novel, Back To You, was one of my absolute favorite reads last year. If you haven't had the pleasure of reading it yet, you should definitely move it up on your TBR list! You'll love it, I promise. See what Priscilla has to say about writing her second novel...

Second Book Jitters: aka My Thoughts on Releasing Emancipating Andie

Second Book Jitters is an actual medical condition. Did you know that? It’s true. I’ve got a case of second book jitters, and the only prescription…is copious amounts of wine and chocolate.

Let me start by saying that I released my first novel, Back to You, to an audience of zero. No one. Not a single person was waiting for it. I just hit publish and sat back and said, “Okay, so…it’s done!” And then it sat there. Staring at me. Taunting me. Saying, “So here I am! Whatcha gonna do with me now?”

Eventually I sent it out to a few bloggers and told some of my friends and family about it. I remember telling my husband, “It would be so cool if a stranger read it,” because I honestly just envisioned my friends and family buying copies to support me, and maybe convincing a friend or two of their own to get a copy. Little did I know just how many “strangers” would read it, or how many of those strangers would become friends, or how amazing and supportive and wonderful you all would be. You have rocked my world and then some, and I love you all for it.

That being said, releasing a book to an audience is probably one of the most intimidating and nerve-wracking things I’ve ever done. Because Emancipating Andie isn’t Back to You. And Chase and Andie aren’t Michael and Lauren. And as I gnaw my fingernails to the bone, I just keeping thinking, “That’s okay, right?”

I tell myself of course it is. I tell myself that it would be pointless and silly to write the same book over and over, to write the same characters and give them different names. Of course it should be different. People want different. Right?

*Cue fingernail biting as I uncork a bottle of wine.*

All kidding aside, I truly do hope you enjoy Emancipating Andie. I hope Chase makes you cringe and then laugh and then swoon, and that Andie makes you want to strangle her one minute and hang out with her the next. And thank you so much for the support and love you’ve shown me since I stepped on to this scene five months ago. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you all. (And that’s me speaking, not the jitters.) xo

I grab her exploring finger just as it reaches my happy trail—a trail that if I let her wander down further will lead us to do things we can’t take back. Things like three-word phrases being confessed that would end me if I was rejected. Things like selfishly wanting to own her body and doing things to her that would make my fantasies blush. And things like making her promises too soon that won’t do either of us any good. She makes me want a future that’s not possible, and one I don’t deserve. Listening to my ego got me into this situation. Will listening to my heart get me out?
