Breathless.
What a perfect title for this story. This author has a talent of making you
fall in love with her characters in her quick and steamy reads. Falling for
Jesse was no different. Jesse was injured from a motocross accident. He is left
devastated and broken. He tries to fill this void with booze (lots of it) and
women. Sounds like your typical broken man, right? Not at all. Jesse has
problems, and we find them out later. Once Jesse moves to California, to help
out his uncle that owns a bar (and to stay out of trouble) he meet Nikki. And
sparks fly. No, seriously they do.
I loved
the dual POV of the story. It allowed me to understand the background of both
Jesse and Niki and how they came to be. I think the author did a great job at
character development. When Jesse and Niki meet for the first time, you can
literally feel the electricity that sparked between them. I love when authors
are able to capture this in their characters.
I didn’t
know what to expect with this new adult story, but as the story progressed, I really
enjoyed it. I liked the pace of the story, as it kept me engaged and wanting to
read more. There ended up being secrets and mystery in this story. I love when
this happens! I didn’t expect it at all. I cannot wait for the next book in
this series. If you are looking for a well written, steamy, new adult story,
then this is for you.
