Rebecca Shultz has always known she was adopted. She couldn’t have chosen better parents than the ones that chose her. They’ve always made her feel loved and she’s never wanted for anything—except knowing why she was given up in the first place. With Ryan distracting Rebecca with feelings she’s never felt before, roadblocks popping up that keep her from the answers to her past, and someone desperately trying to get her to leave, will she give up before her questions are answered? Will she stay and fight to find the truth? Or will she find that she already has everything she ever needed and that home can be anywhere you want it to be?

The only truth Rebecca knows is that she is adopted. She does not know the circumstances that involve her adoption or her birth parents. Although it bothers her adoptive mother, Rebecca is determined to find the people that gave her up so many years ago.  When she moves hours away from home for a job, she meets Ryan. They have so much more in common than either of them thought. Little did she know that on this journey, she would end up where she belonged all along. This story was filled of love, hope, and forgiveness.

Coming Home was a slow paced story, but quickly made up for it in the end. I thought I knew what was going to happen, and then all of a sudden, everything changes! I enjoyed the mystery to this story as well. Just when I thought I found the root of the problem, the author had me second-guessing myself. I love when that happens! I didn’t know which character I could trust. I felt betrayed by all of them! In the end, it was a sweet story with characters that tugged at your heart strings.

“I think I’ve always needed you. I just didn’t know you yet.”

Overall I found this to be an easy read that lovers of YA may enjoy. I liked that this story wasn’t your everyday YA read. There was tons of story and mystery to keep the reader intrigued.
