Chaos by Christine O’Neil

Darker Days

A little sin can be deadly...
Jessie Darker goes to high school during the day, but at night she helps with the family investigation business.
Cheating husbands and stolen inheritances? They’re your girls—but their specialty is a bit darker. Zombie in your garage? Pesky Poltergeist living in your pool? They’ll have the problem solved in a magical minute. For a nominal fee, of course...
When gorgeous new client, Lukas Scott, saunters into the office requesting their help to find a stolen box, it sounds like a simple case—until the truth comes out. The box is full of Sin.
Seven deadly ones, in fact.
They’ve got five days to recapture the Sins before they're recalled by the box, taking seven hijacked human bodies with them. Easy peasy—except for one thing...
There’s a spell that will allow the Sins to remain free, causing chaos forever. When the key ingredient threatens the life of someone she knows, Jessie must make the ultimate choice between love and family—or lose everything.

My name is Maggie Raynard. After sixteen years being just plain me, suddenly, when I lose my temper, my fingers become weapons of mass destruction. Turns out I'm a semi-god, descended from Aphrodite. Sounds cool in theory, but when I accidentally put my ex-boyfriend in a coma, things go downhill pretty fast.

Now some new guy named Mac Finnegan has made it his mission in life to continually piss me off. I'm stuck learning how to use my new powers while also dealing with regular high school problems, and with this annoying and super-hot—guy all
up in my business, I'm about to flip out.

But it gets worse. I just learned there's this watchdog council of semis who keep an eye out for any bad apples. They think I'm the baddest one in the bunch and want to take me out before I do any more damage. My nemesis Mac might turn out to be my salvation, only he's got secrets of his own...and they may just kill us both.

@ThatsWhatSheSaid 4realz? U can have all my chaos then, cuz I'm SO overrrr it #SuccingAintEasy
@MonsterMashr Color me interested! What kinda chaos we talkin bout? I'm into anything cept zombies

@ThatsWhatSheSaid Zombies? O_o And I thought deadly fingertips & the Irish asshat stalking me at school was bad. Braineaters=worse
@MonsterMashr Irish asshat? Do tell! Though I warn you. I'm a sucker for Irish accents. And sharp things...

@ThatsWhatSheSaid Then u will luv him, cuz he's like an ice pick in my side. ACTUALLY...did I hear u..."take care of" unpleasant paranormal bizness?
@MonsterMashr Is he an Otherworlder? For fifty bucks and a couple bars of chocolate, I'm your girl!

@ThatsWhatSheSaid K, no clue what an Otherworlder is. Deets? Mac is a semi-god, but full-pain-in-my-ballz. $50 is a steal & Hershey's on the way
@MonsterMashr Whoa SemiGOD? Not sure thats a typical Otherworlder fee(non human magical variety) He cute?
@ThatsWhatSheSaid ...uhm, I guess...don't u HAVE a boyfriend?
@MonsterMashr Yep - not dead tho ;) So what level of asshattery are we talking? Destruction? Devouring children? Has he smited something?

@ThatsWhatSheSaid Jeez, what kind of life r u living? Smiting? Is that even a thing anymore? And far he's just rly annoying.
@MonsterMasher Smiting is totally a thing! That's what Gods do. But srsly...Not sure annoying is cause for Mashing. How bout some payback? I'd do it 4 free
@MonsterMashr Ok. Not FREE... I still expect the chocolate

@ThatsWhatSheSaid >.< Please don't talk smiting. I think I mighta made the shortlist on that front. Just found out about the whole semi-god thing & prefer not to know more

@ThatsWhatSheSaid But I'd love some payback. What r u thinking?
@MonsterMashr Wait, you too? Can't you, I dunno, do something epic (no smiting involved)

@ThatsWhatSheSaid ME? I can pulverize fruit. And accidentally put people in comas. #NoControl I was looking for something humiliating. Can u give him a tail maybe?
@MosterMashr My witch friend kinda sux @ casting. O! I have a necro friend that could get the dead 2 sing show tunes! Asshat would never sleep again!

@ThatsWhatSheSaid Perfect! He lives behind a cemetery. Maybe I can return the favor. Need a smoothie? Or some baby food? -_-

@MonsterMashr We'll work something out ;) Meet you tomorrow?
@ThatsWhatSheSaid Sounds good!

O_0 Okayyyy, so maybe their problems are a little different than ours were when we were teenagers, but sounds fun, right? We want to know, what was the most trouble YOU’VE ever gotten into?!
