Blog Tour, Review, & Giveaway: Sweet Surrendering by Chelsea M. Cameron

Title: Sweet Surrendering
Author: Chelsea M. Cameron
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 15, 2013
Synopsis
She’s his boss. He doesn’t care. This office isn’t big enough for the two of them…

When Rory Clarke ends up hiring the guy she spent one steamy night with to be her administrative assistant, she's determined to keep things professional.

Lucas Blaine has other plans for her. He wants Rory, and it’s hard to resist his stunning blue eyes, chin dimple and the way he fills out a suit. Everywhere she looks, there he is, giving her a panty-melting smile and pulling her away for the most amazing (and satisfying) sex she’s ever had in her life.
What starts off as one sexual encounter turns into multiple trysts in and out of the office and the lines she’d tried to draw so carefully are blurring. But the closer they get, the more Rory realizes that there are things about Lucas she doesn’t know, things he’s hiding from her. She’ll have to decide if she can surrender to her feelings or get out while she still can.

Review

I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Aurora (Rory) Clarke does not play games when it comes to her job. She is vice-president of her father’s company and has worked very hard to get to where she is. So when she meets the gorgeous Lucas Blaine during an interview for her new assistant position, she pretty much declares that this beautiful man will not be a distraction. That she can still do her job. Wrong!
All because of Lucas Blaine and his stupid magical tongue and lovely penis.”

I felt the connection between Rory and Lucas, the moment they met. The interview scene was one of my favorites. As Rory and Lucas (later called Lucah) work closely together, they can no longer fight the attraction.  While, Rory senses a secret past of Lucas, this does not deter her from falling for him. She falls. Hard. What I loved most about this story was how accurate it portrays love. You don’t get to choose who you fall in love with or how it happens. One day it just hits you and love can make you crazy, but feel wonderful at the same time. Love heals and it feels good to love and be loved.

"Love with Lucah was something I couldn’t control, and something I didn’t want to control. Loving him was letting go. Surrendering."

Sigh. To watch Rory surrender to Lucas was breathtaking. She let go of all her fears and hesitation. And just loved him.

I loved the banter between all of the characters in this book. I found myself laughing out loud, several times. I absolutely loved Rory. We need more heroine’s in books like her. She is confident, intelligent, and witty. Lucas Blaine. You are sweet as you are sexy. I adored Lucas’ character and his way with words. He had me at hello. No, seriously. He did.

“I don’t want just nights. I want mornings. And mid-mornings and late mornings and noons and afternoons and evenings and everything in between. Sunrises, and sunsets, and twilight. I want it all.”
What a sweet romance this turned out to be. The title is perfect.  I never expected to love this book so much! This was my first book by this author, and definitely not my last. I had a hard time putting this one down. I enjoyed the flow of the story and the author’s writing style. If there was a recipe of adult contemporary romance, this would be it. There was humor, steaminess, and romance. I could not have asked for a better read. I recommend this to any lover of romance.

P.S. Can we have a Rory and Lucas novella? Please? I wasn’t ready for their story to be over.
