Synopsis:
Sometimes you can't help falling in love, even when you try to do the opposite...Successful fashion blogger McKenna Bell has spent far too long protecting herself after the way her ex-fiancé left her at the altar for a college chick he met the night of his bachelor party. Loving again, trusting again, well, that's just not in the cards. Especially now that her ex is back in town with his new woman, demanding custody of McKenna's favorite creature in the whole world--her dog. No effing way. McKenna's had enough of him, and she decides to even the score by finding her own hot young thing -- a Trophy Husband. Sure, she's only twenty-seven, but doesn't that make it even more fun -- and infuriating to her ex -- to pursue a younger man?
When she declares her intentions on her daily blog, her quest quickly skyrockets in popularity, and that's when Chris enters the picture, and he’s got all the assets. He's handsome, successful, and turns her inside out with a kiss to end all kisses, the kind that makes you feel like a shooting star. But loving again could mean losing again, and it's so much easier to focus on getting even, isn't it? Unless, you just can't help falling in love. Which means McKenna will have to come face to face with what she really wants in life -- protecting her heart from hurt, or letting go of her fears of a new beginning.

Today for the TROPHY HUSBAND blog tour, Lauren is giving us her DREAM CAST! Let's see who she thinks would fit McKenna and Chris best ;-) And don't forget to enter the GIVEAWAY at the end of the post!
By Lauren Blakely
The dream cast for any book includes the actor or actress that
YOU, as the reader, pictures as the characters. That’s what makes the written
word so special, in my opinion. The reader can imagine as the lead either Chris
Pine or Chris Evans or Channing Tatum or Ryan Gosling or Hugh Grant, if you
like a little older, or Zac Efron, if you like younger, or heck, even Michael
Cera if you’re going for the whole awkward, self-aware, hipster look.
Okay, I’ve yet to see Michael Cera as a facsimile for a book
boyfriend. But hey, taste is individual and my Christian Grey may not be your
Christian Grey, and so on.
But of course, what does a romance writer love more than playing
her own casting director! (Maybe that’s why I wrote a casting director in my
second book, Pretending He’s Mine). So if I were to cast the film version of
Trophy Husband, I’d call in two chicks for the lead role of McKenna - Emma
Stone and Blake Lively. Emma has that perfect mix of sweet and snark that I
love. But she’d be the dark horse, because Blake Lively is totally my McKenna.
That hair! That face! But most of all - her style. Just look at her pink dress for a
moment. It’s so adorable and so sexy and so her, and she's paired it with those studded beige Louboutins. She has the tough yet vulnerable appeal, but also the sweet girl next door look too that fits McKenna to a T.
Onto the man! The hero in Trophy Husband is Chris McCormick and
he’s got the whole California surfer charm look going on. He runs his own
business, but he’s very laid back and has never worn a suit in his life. Ever
since I came across the model David Genat on a Random Hot Guy of the day page,
he’s been my Chris! Here he is in one of my quote pics, and he’s just got the
right build, hair, face, and body.
But then @Kellierm77 on Twitter showed me this picture of Jessie
Pavelka, and well, my husband had to get out the shock paddles and restore me
to life since I’d died and gone to heaven from the beauty.
This picture! That
smile! That hair! That laid-back, ease and charm! (Can I just have both of them
please?)
For McKenna’s ex, Todd, let’s go with Brendan Duplass. He does such a fantastic job playing smarmy on The Mindy Project.
How about Mila Kunis
for the supporting role of Hayden, McKenna’s best friend? And if we cast Jessie Pavelka as Chris, can we
have Chris Pine as McKenna’s good friend Andy? Because that’s
two-for-the-price-of-one when it comes to hotties.
xoxo

Any excuse I have to look at a picture of Chris Pine and I'll take it ;-) So, while looking at Lauren's picks for Trophy Husband characters, I thought it would be fun to make my own cast. So here is who I pictured while reading this super fun and sexy book!
Lauren Blakely is an unabashed fan of clever jokes, toast, and good guys in novels. Like the heroine in CAUGHT UP IN US, she thinks life should be filled with movie kisses and coffee drinks. Lauren lives in California with her husband and children, and spends her days writing both true stories and make-believe ones.
