Review- Exposure by Iris Blaire!

Exposure (East Park #1)

Title: Exposure (East Park #1)
Author: Iris Blaire
Age Group: New Adult
Publication Date: May 20th 2013
My Rating: ★★★★★

Synopsis:

She’s the sexiest secret at East Park University.

Rylan Willow is the top model for East Park Exposed, the university’s underground and insanely successful erotic magazine.

Her friends know her as Evan Cosette, a biochemistry major with a flawless GPA.

East Park Exposed has kept Evan’s tuition paid. All she has to do is keep up the naïve school-girl disguise when she’s on campus and her secret is safe, her two worlds separate.

Until Dallas.

When the magazine runs a co-ed shoot to broaden readership, Evan’s partner is a gorgeous and disgustingly brilliant grad student. Evan doesn’t know how much of Dallas Whitley she’ll be able to handle, especially when he wants to study with her outside the studio. She promises herself that she can just be friends with Dallas. He has a girlfriend, after all. And Evan needs to focus.

She can’t when the co-ed printing brings sales through the roof.

She can’t when her photographer wants to crank the heat for the next issue.

Every steamy shoot leaves Evan gasping for breath, her true feelings for Dallas clouded by their camera-charade. But the more time she spends with him in the real world, the more she risks someone finding out the truth about her.

She needs to decide.

Who gets Dallas—Rylan, or Evan?

So Bianca and I, along with a few of our other friends/fellow bloggers, decided to do a buddy-read of EXPOSURE by Iris Blaire. And the consensus is-- we all LOVED it! Let me tell you, this book is HOT! The sexual tension is unreal and I could not pull myself away from this book until the very end. While we were reading, of course we had to discuss... so here is some of what we all thought!

Ok, so on to my review!
First, I would like to give a big THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Ms. Blaire for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book has been on my TBR list for a while and I had been dying to read it! The synopsis pulled me in and this sounded like such an original exciting idea for a book... And it did not disappoint!

Exposure is told from dual POV's. We have our female main character, Evan-- aka Rylan Willow-- on the outside, she appears to be just your average college girl who is leading a fairly uneventful life. Throw on some sweats, head to class, study, spend time with her two best friends. She plans to just keep her head down and finish her degree... Because behind Evan's introverted exterior is the infamous Rylan Willow, East Park's very own pin-up girl and one of the stars of the campus' erotic magazine, East Park Exposed. Her best friend Britain is the founder and photographer. And along with their other best friend, Delilah, who also poses for the mag, they have become quite popular with their fellow students and found a very interesting way to get rid of their student debt and make a comfortable living!

So where does our hero, Dallas, come in? Well Britain and Delilah decide that they want to branch out a bit and start included male models in the magazine, reach out to the female population on campus a bit. Enter Dallas. He's smart, sexy, a little bit dorky and slightly introverted like Evan. His girlfriend, convinces him to audition for the magazine. Yes, his girlfriend. I know, I know, crazy! Of course he's gorgeous and gets the job. Although he is originally scheduled to do his test shoot with Delilah, he ends up shooting with "Rylan," who is NOT happy about including guys in the shoots and gives him a little bit of a hard time. Especially because of the fact that Dallas was, just the day before, lecturing her Biology class! For Evan, who is trying to keep a low profile and keep her two lives separate, this isn't ideal. Of course, while shooting, sparks fly between these two and the stage is set for some seriously sexy, tension-filled, scenes!

This is the part of my review where I might ramble on a bit. Because... holy crap, this book was hot! And it left me just as sexually frustrated as Evan and Dallas. I mean... Chocolate. Licking. Pool-water-soaked lingerie, desk sex, shower sex, car sex. (holy crap, the car!) These are just a few of the scenes set for this magazine that will leave you fanning yourself, needing an ice-cold glass of water, and maybe even a cold shower! The sexual tension was just building and building and building, threatening to burst at the turn of every page. It was unbearable and oh so good! I'm all for a steamy novel, but this one-- with the sexual tension alone, not even the sex!-- blew all the steamy books I've read recently out of the water.

I had such a hard time putting this book down. This author drew me in from the very first page and there was not a dull moment in the entire novel. The story flowed flawlessly and I was so invested in these characters. The main characters, as well as the supporting characters were so much fun and very relatable. Yes, they were involved in an erotic magazine, but they were still just normal people underneath it all. Exposure seemed to be the perfect length-- not too short, not too long. Sometimes when I finish a book, I get that pang of disappointment that the book is over and I'm left wanting more... While I was definitely sad to turn that last page, I was left completely happy with the story and satisfied with the ending. There will be a second book in this series, which is set up well at the end of this book, I think, though definitely not a cliffhanger. Exposure was FUN, it was obviously sexy and just an all around fantastic read. Especially for a debut-- what?! Well done! Exposure was a breath of fresh air for me when I was finding myself in a bit of a contemporary rut. Highly recommended for fans of New Adult and Contemporary who don't mind plenty of steam!
