Book Tour, Review, and Giveaway: Losing Francesca by J.A.Huss

Title: Losing Francesca
Author: J.A. Huss
Publication Date: July 1st 2013
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Synopsis:
Francesca Sabatini came to America to take in the sights, celebrate her high school graduation, and have fun wasting time before college starts in the fall.

That’s not what happens.

Fresh off the plane and barely on American soil more than a handful of minutes, Francesca’s face is recognized by TSA scanners to be a match for a child who was kidnapped twelve years ago.

Brody Mason remembers the day Fiona Sullivan went missing during a family vacation in Italy and it’s haunted him his whole life. So when Francesca shows up at the Sullivan farm down the road, he’s compelled to figure out if this girl really is his long lost friend.

But Francesca knows she’s not Fiona Sullivan. She knows exactly who she is. At least she thinks she knows – until Brody Mason relentlessly pursues her and she begins to have feelings for him. Maybe being Fiona isn’t so bad?

Reality becomes blurred, secrets are revealed, and life will never be the same when the final questions are answered: Is she Francesca or Fiona? And where does she really belong?

Review

I was provided an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Where do I begin? The only way to really put into words how I felt about this story is to sit down and write it right after finishing it. It was not what I expected at all, but I loved it!

Francesca Sabatini is on her way to America when she is recognized by TSA agents as Fiona Sullivan, a girl that was kidnapped 12 years ago. She is brought back to her home with the Sullivans. The only problem is that she refuses to believe she is Fiona Sullivan. She does everything in her power to be rude to this family she swears isn’t hers. Until she meets Brody Mason. One look at her, Brady knows that this IS his Fiona. The only girl he has ever loved and broken over when she disappeared.

This story was about love, betrayal, secrets, and forgiveness. I was drawn into it from the beginning. The author gives some what of a warning that there is no smutty scenes in this book. A book as wonderful as this one did not need any smutty and smexy scenes. I think the scenes in the book were perfect. There are some definitely hot moments, but the author executes them in a very sophisticated manner. I felt the longingness between Francesca and Brody.  I felt how much Francesca felt that Brody was her home.

"I want to savor every moment, every first, and then when that first time is over, I want to wallow in the after-effects and enjoy the second time around just as much."
"I think I could love you."
"I think you already do."

I didn’t expect there to be so much mystery in this book. I think this element allowed the story to flow nicely. It kept me as a reader, intrigued and involved in the actions of the characters.  Family was another important element in this story.  Despite what happened, Francesca has two families fighting for her. At first she is reluctant to accept them, but then she realizes they are everything she didn’t realize she yearned for. I definitely think this is a mature YA novel. I think lovers of YA and NA will truly enjoy this book. I recommend this for anyone looking for a new and exciting read.

About the Author
J. A. Huss likes to write new adult books that make you think and keep you guessing. Her favorite genre to read is space opera, but since practically no one reads those books, she writes new adult science fiction, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, urban fantasy, and books about Junco (who refuses to be saddled with a label).

She has an undergraduate degree in horses, (yes, really–Thank you, Colorado State University) and a master’s degree in forensic toxicology from the University of Florida. She used to have a job driving around Colorado doing pretty much nothing but shooting the breeze with farmers, but now she just writes, runs the New Adult Addiction and Clean Teen Reads Book Blogs, and runs an online science classroom for homeschoolers.
