Hounded by a federal investigation and the ensuing media feeding frenzy, Carrie and Ray desperately lean on each other, until a disastrous accident puts both Ray and her sister's lives at risk.

In the last hour, Carrie and Ray will each find themselves faced with a choice.

A choice that will change everything.

I'm had a hard time writing this review and putting into words how I feel about THE LAST HOUR, so it will probably be short and sweet-- also in an attempt to avoid teasers! I'm a huge fan of this author, but let me say that this book is nothing like the previous books in this series. It is completely and utterly heartbreaking and so very unexpected. Despite how I felt while reading this book, I still very much love this author's writing style. The flashbacks provided an interesting layer to the story and I loved that we got much more of an insight into Ray's time in the Army, and even Dylan's. As in the previous books, the supporting  characters brought a lot to the story. And I know that real life doesn't always have a happy ending and is often messy, but I really did wish for something different in the way this one ended. I was still unable to put this one down and am still having a hard time moving on from these characters. Even though I had a difficult time while reading it, it is still an excellent book and I'm glad to have had the opportunity! I will definitely continue to look forward to reading more from this author.
