Review
I
was provided an ARC by Harlequin in exchange for an honest review.
Rowdy
Yates. I have yet to meet someone like you! You are dangerous, exciting, sexy,
and just my kind of guy!
I
wasn’t sure what to expect with this read, but I thoroughly enjoyed every
moment. Rowdy Yates is a bar owner that has never actually settled down, until
now. He is more than your typical hot guy. He’s a mysterious womanizer that
draws you in the minute you start reading. He has been after his bartender,
Avery Mullins for quite some time. However, she thinks that there is nothing
beyond the surface with them, and continues to turn him down. Soon Avery
realizes Rowdy is so much more than what she seems him to be.
This
captivating and exciting story kept me on edge as I learned more and more about
Rowdy and Avery’s pasts. The chemistry
between Rowdy and Avery was undeniable.
Their connection ran very deep and are truly what made me enjoy this
story so much. Rowdy is a
tough-guy on the outside, but so swoon-worthy deep down! Avery is a no nonsense
girl and I loved that about her! I think a lot of women be able to relate to
her. She was very independent. The suspense factor of this book was not
expected, but made this story stick out among other romance stories. I was
looking for a different read, and I definitely found it in Getting Rowdy.
The
steam and sexual tension in this book was great. I found the scenes to be hot,
yet tasteful. They weren’t over done, but felt real and genuine. There was a
great balance between love, romance, and the plot. While many authors struggle
with this, having too much or too little of either or both, this author incorporated
everything into a great love story.
Overall,
this book was nothing short of amazing. It is written in third person, and for
the first time, I enjoyed this way of writing. The author has a nice style
where the story flows in a way that the book was hard to put down at times.
I’ve never read books by this author before, but I will now. I definitely need
to read the rest of the books in this series. All the books can be read as
standalones, but I am very intrigued as to what the rest of the guys are like.
I recommend this author to everyone!
