Blog Tour, Review, & Giveaway: Say When by Tara West

TitleSay When (Something More #1)
Author: Tara West
Publication Date: July 19th 2013
Genres: New Adult, Romance
Synopsis:
He told me to say when, but I can’t. Not with Andrés. It’s so hard to say anything when he’s trailing feather soft kisses down my neck, or when his touch sends hot currents of lust rippling across my skin.

Then there’s the way he smiles and offers soft words of encouragement when I’m creating art, almost like he believes I have talent.

He’s not like any guy I’ve ever met. Not like my ex-fiancée. Not like my father. He’s got me thinking that maybe we can have something more. More than just lust, degradation, and abuse.

And now I’m scared, because that means I’ll have to trust him with more than just my body, but with my heart, too.

Review

I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this refreshing read as it is different from the contemporary romance out there at the moment. The characters and plot are not anything we see in typical romance novels. Christina has always been told her entire life what to do. Even as an adult by her fiancée.  In the very beginning she stands up to everyone in her life and begins to live life for herself.  At this moment, we have been just been introduced to Christina, and I loved her already!
On her way to freedom, she ends up meeting Andrés who is a sexy mechanic. He is not what her mom would want for her, and Christina could care less. Andrés is recently back from Afghanistan and is dealing with returning to normal civilian life. He is instantly drawn to Christina the moment they meet. What they both have in common is that they are both afraid to give their heart to another because of their past.
Although a quick read, I felt instantly connected to all the characters. The book is written from both POV, which I think added to the authenticity of the story and proved that these two people are genuinely in love. The love between Andrés and Christina is intense but passionate. With him, Christina feels free and confident. He supports her in everything. The emotional growth of both Andrés and Christina is a very important part of this story. This sweet, sexy read was enjoyable and I look forward to more of Andrés and Christina. It is far from over.

  2. This book is a must read. The story of two broken hearts coming together is captivating. I found it very difficult to put this book down when I was needed elsewhere. I ended up staying up half the night to finish it with no regrets of having an early morning with little sleep.
