Author: Nazarea Andrews
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Release Date: September 24, 2013
Synopsis:
She's been broken by her past. He's
been breaking for as long as he can remember.
Together, they can make each other
whole--or destroy each other.
When his best friend asks for
something, Dane rarely says no. But babysitting a newly sober Scout Grimes for
three weeks isn't exactly a normal request. And with their history, it's a
recipe for disaster. Not to mention, she's drop dead gorgeous and he can't
touch her.
There are few people Scout trusts as
much as Dane Guillot. He's always been her safe place, where nothing can hurt
her. He's also been the only man she's never let herself want--screwing up
their friendship isn't worth one amazing night together.
They have too much history, and too
much personal baggage to ever work. But if they are willing to take a chance on
love--it might be worth the risk.

Stars!
I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Beautiful
Broken is the second book in the University of Branton series. I freaking loved
loved Atticus and Avery in book one (This Love), so when I heard Dane and Scout
were getting their own book, I knew I had to read their story!
If
you haven’t read the first book, you can still read this one. The author does a
great job at allowing you to connect with the characters in this book even if
they were in the first. Scout just leaves rehab for drug addiction and Dane
picks her up. Dane is Scout’s brother’s (Atticus) best friend and they have all
been very close growing up. At this time Atticus is dealing with personal
issues so he trusts Dane with the task of looking after Scout.
This
book deals with some heavy issues such as rape and substance abouse, however
the author handles the subject matter very well. Scout is very fragile after
rehab. She has a life without drugs to adapt to. She is hurt and drugs and
alcohol is no longer there to help her cope. Dane has always looked after Scout
as if she was his own little sister, however deep down there has always been a
connection between the two.
I
really enjoyed Scout and Dane’s story. It was hard to watch them deny their
feelings for each other as they battled their inner demons. Their past is so
similar and I truly get why they have this spark about them. They get each
other, completely. Their love is
completely undeniable. really enjoy this author’s style of writing and I am
easily connected to her characters. However, I found that I wanted more from
this book. I wanted more Dane and
Scout. I also want more Atticus and Avery. I feel like their stories are not
over yet. I look forward to the continuation of the stories of these
characters.
