Synopsis:
Hiding behind
the anguish from my past, my coyness seeps off of me like an aroma. I have felt
like a stranger in my own skin, trying to claw my way out for far too long,
allowing very few people to see past my façade…until my eyes met with his. I
felt a sudden rush of energy all the way to my core. It jolted me in ways I
never thought possible.
Never in a million years would I have expected to be in the mess I am today. It
all leads back to the night Parker Porter turned my world upside down. The
night his hazel eyes undressed me, peeling away the layers of the woman I tried
so hard to be. He awoke desires that burned deep within me and changed me in
one quick glance, leaving me vulnerable and exposed, picking up the shattered
pieces of my carefully constructed life…a life I should not be living…a life I
was not born into, but placed into by the state of Maine.
Parker opened a door that I am far from closing until I have answers and am
able to face the life I was destined to live. I just have to decide if his love
is worth the mess

Review
I
was provided with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I
absolutely adored Grace and Parker’s story. It was sweet, sexy, and heartfelt. Quiet and shy Grace has just finished
college. She has a past that has stopped her from truly living. Although she
has moved on from that past, she can never feel true happiness. Enter Parker
Porter. He changes everything. He makes her feels things she never thought she
would. He is the reason her life is turned upside down. I will not mention the
circumstance as to which they meet, as I think it is an important part of the
story. This story is full of life lessons, lies, betrayal, but above all
things, love.
The
story is told in dual POV. I loved that we were able to get a glimpse into the
minds of both Grace and Parker. The author did a good job at this, as the story
had a nice flow to it which made it an enjoyable read. A Graceful Mess is also
full of suspense. Once you learn the connection between Grace and Parker, you
will ask yourself, how is this going to work out without hearts being
shattered?! But you learn through their characters that love knows no
boundaries.
Parker.
Sweet, adorable Parker. He is thoughtful, loving, and completely swoon
worthy. The connection between
Grace and Parker was undeniable. I felt it the moment I realized they were
going to meet. There are such
tender sweet moments between these two! Talk about good romance! There’s also
some sexy scenes that will have you fanning yourself. I felt like there was a
good balance of romance and story in this book. Some books, do too much or too
little of the other, but A Graceful Mess is sure to have you reading to find
out more. I had a hard time putting it down. I needed to know the rest of their
story.
Overall,
I truly enjoyed this book. I loved that the author tied everything up at the
end. It was the perfecting ending to a heartfelt book. While there are hearts
and flowers, there is also betrayal and heartbreak in this story. You will feel
for Grace and Parker. But, love is amazing. This book illustrates that love can
save us, even when we think it’s not possible. I look forward to more of this authors work.
