Review
I was provided with an ARC copy of
this book in exchange for an honest review.
Ava is left heartbroken after
Harper, her boyfriend of four years dumps her. In Singapore. Even after she
left her life back home to be with him. What a jerk, right? Exactly. She goes
home and vows to better herself. No boys. Until Jasper.
I have been waiting for this book
to come out for awhile. It was definitely worth the wait! Monica James wrote a
fabulous debut! Ava, although frustrating, is a strong female character. We
need more of her in our literary world. Jasper. Holy. Crap. Where do I begin?
He is hot AND he sings. When Ava and Jasper meet you could literally see and
feel the electricity between them. The author has a nice style of writing where
the story flows nicely.
Love is not easy. It’s hard. I love
a HEA like anyone else. But, sometimes I want to read a REAL love story, and
this is it! There are swoon worthy times and there are times where I wanted to
throw my iPad. Life is full of ups and downs. Love can hurt and make you
afraid. Sometimes you just have to take a chance on love. Ava and Jasper learn
this the hard way. I truly connected to these characters. They were relatable
and genuine. There were a lot of “feels” in this book. I felt every emotion as
I read.
Overall, I loved this story. It leaves off at a good place. By the
end my heart truly felt for what Ava and Jasper have been through. I absolutely
cannot wait until the next book in this series. Although their story is not
finished, I encourage everyone to read this if you enjoy the new adult genre.
It’s not your typical girl gets hurt and meets a new guy love story. It’s real.
So, stop reading this and go buy now!
Purchase I Surrender, NOW!
