Synopsis:
How do you survive the internship from hell?
Don't fall in love.
Ivy thought being a reporter-in-training at the Independent Gazettewould be her dream summer job. Little did she know, interviewing Eric, a landscaper with a heart of gold, would derail her plans. It turns out Ivy's boss, Lauren, has been eying his chiseled physique for quite some time.
But at twenty-four, Eric already has a tragic past, one that he is still reeling from. Even though his ordeal turned him into some sort of local celebrity, it's been a while since he's shared his bed with anyone. When he comes to Ivy's rescue out of the blue, it's not long before the two of them start seeing each other behind Lauren's back. When they get caught, Ivy's journey toward a college degree is jeopardized and her relationship with Eric is severely put to the test.
Career versus love? In the end, a shocking turn of events provides Ivy with a revelation she never saw coming.
Review
The author provided me with a copy
of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Take Me Now is a sweet and short
summer read. The story centers around Ivy, a journalism intern at the Gazette.
She needs this internship so that she can move forward in her school
career. The problem is her boss
(Lauren) is just impossible. Oh and evil. Let’s not forget, vindictive. Fun
summer internship, huh? Eric is known as a town tragedy. Everyone knows his sad
past. Ivy and Eric cross paths and their connection is undeniable. Sparks fly
when these two meet. Although fast, I think their feelings toward each other
are genuine. Both have been ruined by love in different ways, yet the moment
they meet their hearts want to learn to love again.
This story starts strong. The
prologue is intense and passionate. We are then introduced to other guys in
Ivy’s life, Ryan, her best friend and Will, the guy she has been in love with
forever. This is not your typical
girl likes several guys story. There are twists and turns, lies, deceit, and
betrayal. There is also love and sweet moments in this story. You want to
believe in love and second chances at love.
Overall, I liked this story. I wish
it were a bit longer as some things have not been resolved. If you are looking
for a story with enjoyable characters, then this is for you. I look forward to
the continuation of this story.
